Fiat Chrysler recalls Dodge Darts with shifter defect

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. has just announced a recall of more than 320,000 Dodge Dart compact cars all of North America. Louisiana residents should know that the 2013 to 2016 model automatic transmission Dart cars may have a defective part that allows the shift cable to detach from the transmission, preventing vehicles from shifting into park.

Fisher-Price addresses infant risk death in Rock 'n Play Sleeper

Parents in Louisiana should take note if they own a Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Sleeper. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, together with Fisher-Price, has issued a warning that all models of the Rock 'n Play Sleeper, an inclined baby seat, can put babies at risk for injuries or death if they roll over in the product.

Tesla fire after crash sparks concerns

Some Tesla owners in Louisiana may be concerned about reports of fiery crashes involving the automaker's vehicles. The all-electric cars are known for both their luxury and innovation, but some people are questioning their safety after a February crash in Florida. In the incident, a Tesla Model S suddenly left the roadway, swerving through three lanes of traffic before hitting a median and trees. There, the car burst into flames. The one-car accident killed the Tesla's driver.

Blood pressure medication recalled after contamination

Louisiana patients may be concerned about potential risks to their health if they have taken certain blood pressure tablets that contained trace amounts of a known human carcinogen. Two lots of Losartan potassium tablets, used to treat high blood pressure and other disorders linked to Type 2 Diabetes, were voluntarily recalled by Torrent Pharmaceuticals. The company announced the recall of two lots of the medication on the Food and Drug Administration website.

Korean automakers sued by U.S. drivers

Louisiana motorists may be interested to learn that Kia and Hyundai are being sued by U.S. drivers for manufacturing vehicles that had engines that caught fire without being involved in collisions. More than 350 complaints from drivers were sent to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regarding the concealment of the defect. The class-action lawsuit was filed on Dec. 14 in the U.S. District Court in Central California.
